I think that Siricco is going to be my Karen Walker Cash Cow. I hope anyways. I keep going in, and finding great Karen walker Sunglasses, always on sale for $60. I bought this ANNIE style pair today, determined to put them on ebat as soon as i got home.. but i think I might like them!? This was the original KW pair i wanted, she's just rereleased them in black for the current range! Are they passe tho? Georgie wanted them from Dakota recently and i said NO (at $300 this is fair enough) but i kinda like 'em...
KW Runaway arrows on the sides in black
Prepping for sale.. pause.. prep... pause... contemplating...
As seen in the current KW EyewareRange!
Great news- YAYYYY i won the bag! I woke up at 4am, and slowly bid (in my slumber) and it said "You are the highest bidder" with 1 second to go. WOOOO!!! I got it right on the top of my bag budget, $255US, and then as an added bonus i found i still had 160 in my paypal. Am a bit nervous as i only just realised the bag was a display model with minor scuffs. (how did i miss that in item description?) Nothing i wouldn't do to it in five mins to it anyways.
Something that is bothering me is my Leonard Street Booties. Mostly because I have only worn them about 6 times, and only ever to work, but they look old, tired and horrible! It doesn't make ANY sense what has happened to them?
And something that is REALLY confusing me is that each time i try them on, it feels like the heel gets less and less balanced (like it's moved to the centre of my heel) & so I don't wear them. I saw the same booties in Glenhuntly Rd on the weekend, and noticed they have a normal, straight heel. Looking at mine again, there curve seems strangely severe. (oh and i snapped the leather lace last week when trying them on, again)
Thinking about writing to them and queerying what's going on with the heel. it looks like mine was always like this, but why were the ones on Glenhuntly Rd so Well-balanced?
On my way home i saw my favourite Peugeot bike. I have been photographing Peugeots (which i only ever see in orange, green or white) each time i see one, because i think it is the coolest bike i have ever seen. If I see one for sale im afraid i will succumb to my shopping illness + have to buy it! (In particular the orange one i saw at the Collingwood Childrens Farm Cafe one Saturday morning! I saw the owner in toorak rd early one morning, and BOY was it squeaking/rattling!!)

3:55AM Wake Up Call for MJ
This Marc by Marc Jacobs Stripee Zippee Groovee Bag is going off on ebay tonight, and i MUST buy it. I love it so much. It ticks all my bag boxes. Great colour, the cool details (zips & zip pulls) the long strap, the lining.. I love it i love it.. I am determined. Fingers crossed it doesn't go too high. I really don't want to go much over 350 all up (from america w/ postage included) FINGERS CROSSED !!!
May ther ebay gods be on my side.
Today was the end of the Nick Festivus.. i feel like i never want to eat again, and straight after i finish off this post, i am going to research all the low fat, low carb food i am switching to for the next six weeks. i have given myself enough time to lose 5kg before I go overseas, so im gonna have to be pretty strict. What a shieeet i just heard on the news wintery conditions predicted all week + hail + rain + wind. DAMNIT.
Here we are prepping for Cake Number 2 today.
Start of the day... Elisha looking sweet. Monobrow as pronounced as ever. Have a fantasy about drawing a big thick mono on her, ala Simpsons baby!
Nick tried to get a birthday cuddle, no chance mate.
She KB'd Nick and went straight for Uncle Byron. I think sometimes it felt like the paparazzi were in the room with all the SLR cameras! (obviously not mine)
Olivia colouring in a picture i drew of her
Olivia has just had her first hit of red jelly. 30 seconds later it's like a rocketship around the room. Very funny (me spurring her on seemed to annoy everybody :)
Kimba taking a chill pill.
Nick's mum gave him a haircut. Looks good. Doing comparisons to his hair at 21. Michael Hutchence!?
In other news, I bought this French Connection cardigan online for sale at 49.95. It was only because it's yellow, and my current yellow cardi is about 5 years old, and on the way out. The problem with this shade of yellow is that it looks like it's been through the wash with some black tracky dacks, just not quite right.
I just got a chance to try it on today. I don't know if it's because Michael Jackson just died, or what, but the pattern of the ribbing reminds me of a jacket MJ would wear (in gold or silver or some such colour!)

Nick turns 29
Yeeeesh. We are almost 30 !!! Today is Nick's 29th Birthday. This time next year, he'll be starring at his 30s. What the hell just happened? I finished school, blinked, and now Im almost 30!!
Here is Nick in front of home, ready to go out to Pacific Seafood w/ my mum & Paul. We decided to go at 5:30 because it seemed early enough not to need a booking, but they were jam packed! We did get a table.. but our "Fuck off Oranges" came half way through the meal (an attempt to get us to hurry up i wonder?) hehe. I made a discovery there tonight- their Oysters are the best Ive ever had. Huge, meaty, zero slime, very mild flavour & delightful steamed with Ginger! That is a new staple.
Nick is wearing the Country Road Check Shirt + Blue Sportscraft jumper that i bought for him for his birthday.
Here we are drinking post dinner Hot Chocolates in the fancy chocolate place on Toorak Rd (cnr Chaps) I love the illusion that Nick's Huge hand is mine. haha.
Brothers.. LOVE the electric blue of Nick's jumper.
My Winter Spice Hot Chocolate... delicious, thick.. and made me nauceously feel like being sick towards the last sip. I think i had some sort of "ganache" overload !!!
Here is the fruit flan i bought from AVIV this morning, but i think that we're feeling too overloaded to eat any! It's all Aviv delish custard inside. I was imagining bumping into my nana
in Glenhuntly Rd, i literally jumped in the car and drove off without any shoes (i thought i could grab some when i got home, cos i only had heeled boots here). Imagine that! I would have been disowned for ever.. hanging out in the euro bakery, no shoes.
I have a cosmetic issue. I was blaming Dior foundation i bought last year, which is when i first noticed this... but i think the Studio Fix has brought it back with a vengeance !!!! My eyelids are soooo dry, they have gone all wrinkly and are literally PEEELING. It's fucking weird. This better go away tout suite!

Simon and Garfunkle!!! + Movida
Something coooool happened on Wednesday- something really f'cking cool.
I scored free tickets to Simon and Garfunkle! (via Christian mcbride woooo)
I scored free tickets to Simon and Garfunkle! (via Christian mcbride woooo)
Considering this was my 'money was no object tour' (until i bought tickets to europe, when the price of S+G tix did become an issue) it was one of the most exciting things that's happened to me in ages. I was in disbelief all the way there, thinking that something was going to wrong.
ie, Our tickets would be...
a. filed under the wrong name
b. non existant- the request never got through to the right person
c. misplaced- who knows where they went
d. any other possible explanation why comp tickets don't make it to the ticket collection desk.
So i made nick get ready super quick so we could get there early. And holy guacamole, it was the simplest ticket collection of my life- in fact my relief was such that i think i gave a big "woo!" to the collection desk.
Straighten up those tickets LPs, this is an important moment... when i say woo i really fucking mean WOOOOO !!!!
Anyways, so the good thing was, we were there early enough to have a pre show drink... the bad thing was- that we were there early enough to have quite a few pre- show drinks! (a problem in retrospect, at least!)
So here we both are soaking up the atmosphere in the beer / cigarette garden (which Nick today described as 'the exercise yard.. due to having the vibe of a prison!!
So four beers later, we grab two beers each and take our seats.. they are flipping awesome seats, and we are sitting next to one of my teenage idols, Wally Meanie. I always thought he was a bit of an arsehole, but at one point he laughed at something i said, which has made me reconsider my viewpoint.
Check out the crowd.... positively packed! ..
Here is the back of Wally Meanie's head...
Here is Nick and i (mainly i) getting super duper excited about ticking this concert off our list of "Must Sees before we die".
Then they appear, playing "Old Friends" and it takes me flipping ages to get the settings right on my camera. argh!
Our FREE seats..
But, ze beers took over and we drank A LOT of Heineken on tap. I don't think i realised how much until i woke up this morning, the advantage of an S+G gig is that the crowd is old, and the queues to the bar are a DELIGHT. Compounded with an early start, we drank... a lot.
hmm im a lil pissed popzzz...
Im with ya jullzzz....
Truly in form, i loved Simon and Garfunkle. Their performance is flawless, their vocals still so amazingly incredible. I did have a few observations about the gig (not necessarily complaints, as our tickets were free, who cares!)
1. They used a very 'bombastic' backing band who kept wigging out into these long drawn out instrumentals. Clearly a talented bunch, but all i wanted was the bare beautiful minimalism them two together with a guitar - ala the opener. Basically my feeling is that less is more for S + G.
2. An old guy behind us, and his wife, tapped us both on the shoulder to say if we wanted to chat, we better "take it outside" .. WHAT THE!? (at a concert, definitely out of his earshot.. clearly us Gen young-er types are disrespectful) .. this annoyed me so much, i almost wanted to take it up with him afterwards ... blame the booze, glad i didnt!
3. Solos. Clearly a contractual obligation.. the entire mid section was dedicated to their solo performance stuff. This also happens to be when Nick and i were having a conversation- quietly.
4. Clapping. Audience used poor judgement in terms of which songs to clap in, and also the timing.. all clapping dwindled out pretty fast, which is cringey. Should have learnt after the first attempt.
5. House Lights. Why on earth did they turn on the house lights two songs before the end of the show? Surely first rule in Concert Vibe killing 101.
Last song, Cecilia, with house lights on... and bad clapping. Boozey Camerawork..
not to end on the criticisms, they are great.... still probably my number 1 band to listen to at all times. If i could only listen to one band for the rest of my life, i would still never tire of them.
(lol at the zooms!)
We woke up wanting to die this morning- along with the news that Michael Jackson just died!! omg crazy morning.
Nick threw up in a bin at Melb Central station on his way to work- narrowly missing having done it on the packed train! Work was hell as i was in a boozey haze I have no idea what happened, but i blame Rod Laver for having grotty pipes on their beer. urgh!!
Tomorrow is LPs birthday so we went to MOVIDA for dinner tonight. Both very hungover, and now Im totally knackered. It was good. I had to book months ago to get a 6pm booking. It is tiny!
Drinking Kross beer from Chile.. was delicious. We are anchovies w/ tomato sorbet, chorizo and egg pastries, slow roast beef cheek, air dried wagyu, smoked macarel w/ pinenut sorbet (+ i got a hair in there! What is my luck with hair in food these days, its crazy?) & Chargrilled Spatchcock.
Having a VERY grey day.. even my skin was grey today.. Im tired, i hate drinking.
Here is LPs with his birthday cakes from Laurents w/ some star shaped sparklers.
One had biscuit crunched through it, one was like a caramel mouse.. yummmm.
On Monday i am switching to steamed fish + veggies.. there will be no more moussey cakes!!
Paul doing a birthday jig for Nick.. crazy ...
Paul took some pics of Byron, I am not convinced about his photography skills.
Okay, this is wayyyyy too much for one post. I am going to get my beauty sleep so i am fresh as a daisy (as if!)
It's 25 mins to Nick's birthday !!!! woooooo !!!!!!!! LPS !!!!! 29!!!!!!!!!!
