What happened this week - Week 1 in the 30s.

Some extra Birthday week shots:

Mini Breadtop cheesecake Birthday cake. Breadtop why you be so delicious?

LPs and I... late in our Vue de Monde Meal.
A must- post as we have so few pics together.
I am wearing the same Alannah Hill top that Maxine McKew wore on here election night cross (where she was scathing of Labour's election preparation)

On Friday night we went out for drinks at Carlton Hotel, followed by Supper Inn.
We got silly with the BYO.
Waiting in the stairwell. Byron being OTT on the facial front.

BYO IS THE BEST.

I share my birthday with my old friend, Mulsh.
We used to have parties together way back when... now it's more a civilised (ish!) dinner.

I don't recall any of these Quadcam pics being taken, but my love of the App means Im going to post a few of them..

Surprise! Fried ice cream with a candle in it.
A few too many BYO

Delightful!

Mulshy chows down... nom nom.

This week's new stuff...

Grey Suede D Co Boots (Right after I swear off grey- haha!)

Aztec style cardigan from Indigo. (I have a credit note and there has not been anything in store that suits for a long, long time!)

More importantly- We capped off the week with an Election!

So we're looking at a Hung Parliament.
LPs, proud as always, of his democratic rights!

FINALLY- it's been a week of rainbows.

Last friday night i drove into this beauty when crossing the Yarra. I can't even remember the last time I saw a rainbow!

Today I walked home - and bang! Another one!
But not only was there a rainbow, there was two! A double rainbow!

So pretty!

I turn 30, I eat well, and my iphone gets a workout.

Last wednesday was my most dreaded birthday yet... The ol' dirty 30!!

This was not before I spent a boozey Tuesday night with the Cats. And a big night calls for a big hangover. This terrible Carlton Draught on tap potentially made me feel 10 years older, rather than just one.

I woke up to breakfast in bed, and a (big) present from LPs.

Here's my new overlocker sewing machine!

I arrived at work to flowers and a beautifully wrapped pressie from the gourmet food hamper store accross the road. We had two cakes and the office sang happy birthday whilst I wore a ridiculous hat. Fortunately I do not have any photos of this!

I had lunch with mum, and then went home early for a nap.
My conditition was TERRIBLE! I couldn't face the thought of fancy dinner! I snoozed an hour and awoke to find out we were going to Vue De Monde. WOOOHOOO!

I was seriously impressed by Vue, it was amazing. I thought it was unpretentious (I was surprised!) and we had great "viewing" seats in front of the kitchen, so we could watch it all unfold Masterchef style.

Appertiser, the Vue Mueslie Bar. It's crunchie bits, creamy something, atop an icy water pouch, & then served on a rock!

Course 1.
Veggies from the Heide Veggie Patch (which I was lucky enough to have a personal tour of a few months back when it opened)

Course 2.
Poached Duck egg on a potato mousse with fried onion.

At this point I think we may have had a melon + cucumber sorbet to cleanse the palate.

Course 3.
Marron Crayfish with Duck
Course 4.
An interesting little number.
Very rare Kangaroo, served with flaked chocolate.

Course 5.
Perhaps the highlight of the night.
The top grade of Wagyu beef you can buy.
Check out that intense fat marbling... Lps remarked that it tasted almost like bacon!

Lps digging in.

Palate cleanser... Lemonade spiders!
Made with fresh lemonade, vanilla ice cream, full of popping candy! What fun.

Course 6.
A light desert of rhubarb & Whipped milk.

Course 7. The finale.
Some delicious souffle with chocolate & Creme patisserie inside...
I don't remember much else about it, as we'd had PLENTY to drink at this point!

Then we had a tasting plate, which my computer refuses to let me upload! Argh!

All up, a delightful meal with my delightful fiance xx

Not all necklaces were created equal

How did a necklace be made on this lofty level of cuteness. Last week my brother sent me this adorable seaside triangle necklace by Tatty Devine.
Yup all the way from London!
I havn't had a chance to style it into anything vaguely suitable (mainly due to the weather, my ghostly palour, and my penchant for scarves at all moments of the day)
The only way it could be photographed was with a MAJOR hangover.
The day before my birthday (Tuesday night) I managed to take drunkness to a new level with the Cats. 30th Birthday was a tough, tough day.
Anyways- Thinking Ill break this baby out for Mexico!
More bday stuff to come, when we stop being capped, that is!

& the week in iphone...

Number 1 issue of the week... wedding dress!!
It's killing me... three dresses down, and counting! It's a daily discovery of new styles to lust after momentarily. Here is distraction number 5000... Thurley maxi, which had me interested for one day! (over it pretty quick, actually)

I have started doing Illustrator classes at Swinburne... 8 week course. Yay.
Here's a glimpse at week 3's work...

Not only are wedding dresses consuming me, so are wedding dress accessories.
Here is a cardigan I bought on the weekend from Alannah Hill to match Dress Option no. 1.
I love the sweet layered diamonte sleeves... but is it "too cute" !?
Mac Attack! I bought all new Eye makeup & highlighters from Mac.
Mac worries me a little bit... I seem to get peely skin around my eyes (gross I know!)

Presents from abroad- always exciting!
Have not opened the proper pressie yet (will wait until Wednesday) but here's a bonus pressie from my brother- faux Balenciagas he picked up at a market somewhere. haha! He chose them for their bigness- not the Balenciaga element! Think I may keep them as a driving option...

And, how's this for spoilt- the full range of Orla Kielys new perfume direct from the launch at Harrods. Thanks Andy! I am going to save it for the wedding & for our holiday to Mexico, and spray it like crazy so it develops it's own sense of place and ttime
(when i smell it retrospectively!)

erm... for some reason, and I have no idea why, my work computer refuses to select/ delete/ move this repeat photo... so I re-introduce... Thurley dress Im no longer into...

Loving the new range from Max and Co... in particular this print and dress style on the left.

Things I did this week

First things first, with my head full of wedding, there's not much else really going on. Oh, hang on, I do turn 30 this week (YIKES!) so this is my last weekend post EVER in my 30s. Yup. Urgh.

Introducing Mr & Mrs Stephens - the wedding toppers! (I remade the old ones I had, I changed the cake design, and decided it needed something cute and traditional) I can't stop laughing when I look at LPs and his flare-like trousers! ahaha. And his curly hair! ahahaha.

This dress is modelled on wedding dress number 3 that I've bought- a sweet white broderie anglaise number from Colette Dinnegan. I believe I may be moving on to dress number 4.. yes, this process has become quite ridiculous indeed. I allow for too many factors. I keep changing my mind. I get distressed. I feel ugly. I feel fat. I feel like there's too much boob action. I can't move. Whatever the case may be- I keep changing my mind! Anyways... having said that, the dinnegan does not look exactly like this dress above (must hold some surprise for LPs)

Will make this part of an arc... or something, or nothing! Not quite sure, but I made some lil clay flowers...

Whilst on the topper theme, packed up my flower girls, they're ready to be demolished by the girls. Scuse the terrible lighting... I've noticed our globes seem to throw a deep yellow light.
Terrible blog lighting!

Little name cards on bolsar wood

We Got personalised wedding stamps made by Australia Post..
I was quite happy when I received them just a couple of days later!

Finished off my wedding invitations. They are packed and ready for postage in the morning.

The envelopes are a pearlescent green. I originally hand made all the enveloped from fabric (these ones are lined with fabric) however I realised that they wern't very post-friendly, very writing-on friendly, very seal-ing friendly- they wern't really good for post full stop.

In other matters, Pulled out this ooooooooold Belinda Fairbanks skirts. Mon Dieu! it's almost entirely see-through! Love the pattern though.

We spent last Saturday afternoon in the city checking out rooftop bars for potential kicking on drinks (not for my 30th, haha, of course it's for the wedding)

I realised I'd never been to the top of the Carlton, the Palmz. I love it- this is it. In fact I loved it so much that I ended up in this condition, buying bad foodstuffs at MacDonalds with LPs. This result = the absolute drunkest of drunk!

Received a Vera Wang dress from Ebay... that was wayyyy too big. Im going to sell it almost as soon as I bought it, but thought I'd post it so I didn't forget it's brief entry into my life.

& I Shopped like a madwoman on asos.
No pics as yet.
