The fine line .. kitsch or disgusting!?

So it's no secret to anyone that I'm completely attracted to anything kitsch, often over the top, colourful, or simply - absurd! For a while my wardrobne was affected with insanely loud vintage dresses, however I think this era of dressing myself has calmed. It still however definitely stretches to home furnishings (as NOT demonstrated by the bedroom revamp). I can only imagine the future when my house is a mismatch of souvenir teaspoons with your tea and saucer, clashing couch cushions with pom pom trims, crazy mexican chairs, salt and pepper collections.... it's all to come!

And now that I have an area to slowly furnish .. i've become quite enamoured with animal lamps!

Looking online, Im not alone!
For example, This horse lamp is incredible. Sensible & strangely sophisticated.

And if i had a lazy $2200+ I would absolutely have already purchased this pig table!
Corky Saint Clair have released these amazing nightlamps. The only problem is the practicality... when have i ever needed a weak strength bedlamp that would barely allow enough light for reading.

....Never.What's up next verges on ugly.. i can see LPs cringing at the thought of waking up next to this. Ebay find, Tiffany leadlight animal lamps. I love this owl's quizzical expression.
I would be SO much more keen if they didn't have that horrible moulded base- reminds me of something that you would see in a store selling Dungeons and Dragons figurines or a key shop selling pewter.

Rooster... pretty ug, but I would display it if i had it.
This is more like it, ditch the base! Ok need to give this topic a rest before i purchase something ugly!

In other news, SBC silk dress arrived today and I came down with the flu. If i wasn't wrapped up on the couch, grey in the face + watching tv (7pm Project for future reference once it's pulled!) I would photograph it. Gorgeous dress.. but bizarre bustline. It's SO LOW. It should've been a size too big (and perhaps is in the bust and hips), but the waist isn't elasticised - so it's oddly tight!?

A Sensible dress..

Just got this Twenty8Twelve by S. Miller dress on Asos.... I saw a dress that was over the knee (three cheers for wearable!), and snapped it up without a second thought..

Of course i got the blue, such a lovely colour, but here's another view. in grey.

The Best bit - it's Reduced from £230 to £70 !!
And postage was only £10 (seemed cheap in contrast to some other postage around)

I can't wait til all my packages arrive this week, so exciting!I'm expecting the silk See by Chloe dress, this one, and the nude lace up booties!! woo.

Can't wait to wear this (very work friendly/ bbq friendly/ general activity friendly!) dress w. the new boots. I hope the waist isnt too bunched up!

Right now on tv there's a show with embarrassing medical problems.. one of the ladies has excessive body hair, she has a bristley beard! It looks like hair from a broom. How horrendous.

DIY necklace.. hmmm

Saw these necklaces on Susie Bubble's blog, by a label called Ka Pow Now. Reminds me of something i will most surely want to copy, then spend an entire Sunday replicating, then never ever wear. They retail for around 120pound.

Like a cross between a scarf and a necklace- a garland of fringe.

Lps is sick. we think swine flu, and just before i swallowed and felt a rasp in my throat. F#ck.

Hard to choose.. corset heels

lps said he'd get me some faux ann demeulemeester lace up booties !!! and i have been totally freaking out at the possibilities.. first i need to choose a colour. So my thoughts are:

1. Black - totally yes, but no. Tried some on in zomp today (in leather) and they were too much like my MJ booties.

2. Nude. Yes, love it. Would my feet look too big though? they are probably slimming.. in the way nude shoes are supposed to me (I don't know i have so few)

3. Grey. Love grey but would it suit my wardrobe? I doubt it.

I'm left thinking risk big feet look, and go for nude. Clint told me nude. I feel like i need them right now. ...

New this week..

Witchery bow flats (copy of Chloe- i love the Chloe green ones, but they are stupendously expensive for the most copied flat of the season!)

I bought these online, and had no recollection of doing so when they arrived! It was such a quick purchase.. very minimal consideration!

Re-enter the DIY Primark shoes (the gold decorative chain snapped 2 minutes into wearing them, so I have bowed them up.. probably a bit OTT. May find something a bit more like a silk scarf) In the meantime, they are a pretty ornament in my long line of bow flats..

I stayed up until 2AM after returning from Port Lincoln at midnight last night to bid on a See by Chloe silk dress from America! of course i won! It's gorgeous, but i might hold off on posting pics til Ive got it on. Fingers crossed it's flattering! (There is a tendancy for their dresses to lack a bit of that!)...

Poopy Woopy Little Poppy Puppy...

Introducing Poppy! The brand new Rhodesian Rideback puppy..

Working in Eyre today....

Today i went on a tour around Coffin Bay. Goddamn it was so flipping freezing.
I kept to myself for much of the trip, it was full of oldies, they all approached me at the end to ask me when the show would be on, and to say that they would be telling all their friends i was on their boat. HAHAHA. how ridiculous. (but sweet)

Birds... look how chilly it is even for
Fur seals hanging out..
To me, this rock island looked prehistoric. A lot of this area hasnt changed for hundreds of years, thousands! I think this little rock island is testament..
Oyster leases in coffin Bay. Where we get all our delicious coffin bay oysters from!
A mixed dozen from Oysterbeds restaurant..
Random drive up the coast.. got lost, but saw amazing views
Heading towards the bight..
Roads that go forever with no signage
Disorientated, keeping happy, don't want to break down/flat tyre etc!!.. no cars, no people, no houses, no gates... no nothing! for ages...

Finally arrived at the pork farm/ antiques shop.. awesome entrance.
Some of the amazing collection... this is mainly coke..
Hello there Jemima... Black Berkshire pig..
More Jemima's in the fridge...
Adorable...

In other news, I am getting an enormous pimple on my cheek, and one on my forehead.
