Moving Out

So this is blog entry take 2. I have already written this, however my laptop seems to have a problem with it's power supply and TURNED OFF! Man, what a drag! So .. here we go again..

This week has been hard. Like really, really hard. The jetlag kicked in X 1000, and whilst Nick could do nothing but sleep (and feel sleepy) I felt wired, alert, and completely + utterly unable to sleep before 4AM every single night. I was running on a completely empty tank. Luckily i think it's started to wear off now! I am old, I can't believe how badly skipping a night's sleep and changing timezones affected me. I blame my recent 29th birthday!

Here I am taking a photo of me sleeping w/ tink & Giz at around 4AM during the week (around the "officially going-crazy" hour!)
Damn them and their effortless round the clock snoozing!!

Next up, my Marc Jacobs bootie have made their first outing! I wore them twice this week. They've left everyone fairly perplexed.. I understand they are weird and ugly, but that's what I love about them! I guess the only negative is that they do make my size 41 foot, look like a size 41 foot, but what can you do about that..
And my Primark dress has also made it's first outing.... I LOVE the print..
Diet starts tomorrow so the dress will look FAB!

Probably the big news this week is that I started moving out. My boss arranged his friend's daughter to come and stay here (long story) which forced me to get started moving things out of my room. It was a flipping nightmare. I have never done a thorough top to bottom clean of everything at once, it's usually one thing at a time. I have SO MUCH STUFF. My room is one thing, but when it comes to cleaning out my other room (with 2 extra chests, 2 extra cupboards) then I think Im going to have a nervous breakdown! Two full bags have already gone to the op shop before ive even finished my bedroom. PHEW.

OK LETS GET STARTED ON THIS DAUNTING TASK

Tinkerbelle hanging out with my shoes
She LOVES to shmoozey my shoes.. not for much longer :(

Here's my room with it's natural mess before it's all gone...

Tinkerbelle watching over the mess Im creating.

Lipgloss etc

Some bags.

I am sure I will miss finding items of clothing freshly washed + hung for me!

Belts

The fun thing is that you encover a whole range of treasures, forgotten treasures!
Tony Martin autograph from 1992 at the back of my old wardrobe!!

Letter sent from Paul & Darren with a pic of Joe dressed up in Black metal makeup to go to Subculture- hahaha. TOO FUNNY, amazing i found it!
Mulberry bag that I forgot I own, but love and want to get into again!
Paint Splattered bag i made back at uni. There was a phase back when sass and bide launched, when EVERYTHING had paint on it. Stupid because it's so easy to DIY. I never used this bag, but it's kinda cool. Hopefully gone to a good home at the op shop!

D Generation Green Guide cover found on the side of bookshelf when i pulled it out.

French movie ticket from when Trainspotting was first released, and I was on Exchange in Toulouse. It's priced in French Francs! (novel in light of the euro!)

Gorgeous vintage dress. Great cut, print, shape- everything!
i bought it on ebay and (unfortunately) it came in terrible condition- stained armpits, and weird little holes all over it. I was outraged for a moment, until i checked the listing and realised that in my haste to own it, I hadn't noticed all the flaws- of which it has many! I wasn't keen to throw it straight out, so it's been living on the bottom of the wardrobe.
Oh well. It's gone to the bin, but I did want to remember it.

Target platform boots- brand new, tagged 49.95. Couldnt figure out if these were a stay or go- i did pop them in the Op Shop Pile in the end. Why i would buy a shoe that's so obviously fake (woodgrain / suede) and then expect to wear it!? I rationalise in my head that they are cool and i will wear them, but of course I never ever ever WILL wear them!!

This belt was the bees knees when i bought it way back when. Strange.
It's SO skinny, i can't even imagine how it could have belted anything!

Vintage brown cardigan with a fishtail back.
Supre... is the brand we know so well a relaunch!? This one's gone to the Op.

I wrote & illustrated horror novels voraciously as a child...

I think I dreamt of the day Point Thriller series released one of my titles! haha.

Pile of crap for the Op Shop

Job for this week is to buy my dream bed from Freedom...

And one of these wardrobes from IKEA

PHEW! Well i better wash my hair and go to bed! Im off to alice springs this week! woowoo.

DIY NY Manicure

My girlfriend Georgie is over in New York at the moment, and she + friend had great manicures and uploaded their pics to facebook! Colour grading, awesome!

As i was just uploading the pics, the strangest thing just happened. I heard a loud bang, then another bang - i thought that perhaps the cats knocked something over, then i checked the kitchen and it was all smokey + smelt like terribly burnt milk! The kettle had blown. Like just some sort of weird power surge obviously!? How scary, glad i wasnt in the tea making process!!

Anyways ... so here are the manicures which have so captured my heart...

I have just done my own in shades of pink, as that's the only colour where i really had a spectrum. Love it!

Slightly frightened at the moment as im quite wide awake and i really really need to get a good night's sleep in before i go back to work tomorrow!! UNBELIEVABLY JETLAGGED.

Sleep pattern so far....

Friday Arrive home at 7AM.
Sleep 2pm - 8PM
Sleep 4am - sleep through all of Sat- wake up Saturday 6:30PM.

Sunday
Went to sleep 5:00AM this morning, woke up 10ish, slept for a couple of hours at paul's birthday lunch and now it's 11PM, and once again Im quite wide awake!

Home, Sweet? Home

We just got home this morning from the holiday. It was a blast!

I have no idea how Im going to readjust my brain to get back into work mode in a couple of days time! So much to run through, and so much jetlag about to creep in, so i might make it my mission over the weekend to put the travel diary together, rather than attempting anything right now. Need to wash my hair, and strangely feel like drinking a 6 pack of beer and taking a snooze.

Strange vibe today for some reason. my mum is ok, but a lil distant about my enthusiasm for certain spots we enjoyed (romania, why not paris, paris blah blah blah- I have no idea why she is so obsessed with me going back to paris!?), however I popped over to visit my nana who was downright disinterested and distanced. In fact i don't even think she asked me about the holiday, just a tonne of questions about Andy - and then somethink about one of our latvian relatives for being naughty in getting pregnant at 15- in the 50s!? All a bit weird. She is angry at me for going in the first place and for being 'fancy', and damn those latvian relos emailing whilst i was away to emphasise the bad sitch in latvia right now.

Anyways! I thought as I just unpacked id upload a few pics of some of my purchases in the UK. Should have bought more. Wish Id bought more (however Im saying this before i check the bank balance!)

It's all about SHOULDERS, sequined blazers & jackets, ankle booties there this year. Even Primark had blazers with Balmain Shoulderpads! Anyways here's the main roundup.

Cacharel Singlet for Liberty - ltd edition
Liberty had a collection of rereleased 70s styles by Cacharel! Most of the sizes were sold out, and the collection was out of stores on the 2nd Seprember. I snapped up this gorgeous singlet for £75 on the spot. I just HAD to own something from this collection!! The print is an absolute winner, it was almost impossible to pick the best print, but luckily i got my favourite in a style in my size! woowoo.

Cacharel and Liberty originally collaborated in the late 1960s, producing a Cacharel designed blouse in a Liberty print. Over the next decade Cacharel designs in Liberty Print became symbolic of the Carnaby Street fashion scene, and the era in general. So it is with great pride and excitement that Liberty is able to reveal its new Cacharel Liberty Print collection. Using the original retro patterns and prints, but on modern designs - the French brand has reunited its alliance with Liberty, whilst delivering a welcomed twist to vintage clothing.

If only they had the right size in the following styles (i would be a lot poorer!)
Nick and I went to Marc by Marc Jacobs where i found a pair of MJ Cut out booties that I'd been dreaming of - IN MY SIZE - for 70% off!!!

Here's a pic of them in the box (with my filthy feet in the background) I was sitting outside the pub on the ground with Nick & Wiggy at this point. Classy
The Marc by Marc Jacobs clothing seemed unreasonably expensive.. heaps of amazing things, but nothing that seemed worth it's price really? HOWEVER i went to Topshop and found this..

Topshop- £32
I would say it's almost a direct rip off of a Marc by Marc Jacobs- check out that exposed zipper on the back...it's lovely!

Primark Military Jacket .. great cut!
£13

Primark dress... so Dries Van Noten! It's hard to see in the photo, but it has square shoulders ala Karen Walker a couple of seasons back. £15
Primark flats £8
Well, that's all for now. I might wash my hair and possibly go for a walk. My nana ensured that I was aware Id chunked up whilst I was gone. I can't believe i look like ive put on an extra 5 keg in just four weeks!? SOOOOO unfair.

Bad Hair + Jet Planes

I have an hour to kill til mum drives me to the airport, so it's time for a sook.

My hair looks terrible. Yes, groan, the hair. I havn't been able to stop trimming it, and it's turning into a disaster. This is where I have to step back and say "STOP". Wish i left the cut as it was, but it once again felt like she hadn't done anything. f@ck. F&CK. Plus the fixed colour is really yellowy and strange. That's like 6hrs in a hairdresser chair now, only to have it look worse than when i started.

here is the worst part... the RHS. I am too scared now to try and straighten the side up, and I cut extra in which didn't fit (all with nail scissors) That's how this happened in the first place!
Other side is normal...
Dressing for the airport COMFORT ONLY. These new Country Road trackies remind me of my primary school ones!
Mum bought me a new packpack today with wheels. Hurrah! fantastic. Urgh- the fringey cut, goddamn my DIY attitude!

Okay, it's time to go..

WOOOOWOOWOWOWOWOWOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
